How listings work

Every business in and around Dronfield has a free listing here. This is what the ticks mean, and the order things appear in.

Every business gets a free listing

If a business serves Dronfield, it has a listing with its name, what it does, the area it is in and its phone number. Nobody has to sign up for that, and nothing is held back to sell a subscription: the phone number is always there.

What the ticks mean

A tick means the listing is actively managed by the people behind it: they have taken charge of it and keep it up to date themselves. There are three:

  • A local business, managed by its owners or employees.
  • A charity, club or community group, managed by its own volunteers or staff.
  • Someone who runs classes or sessions under their own name — a yoga teacher or a coach, say — managed by the organiser themselves.

A listing with no tick is one nobody has claimed yet. It is still a full listing.

Partner Partner businesses

Partner businesses are local businesses that support What’s On Dronfield through a partnership. They appear first in their category. Find out about becoming a partner

The order you see

Partner businesses come first, then verified listings, then everyone else. Within each of those groups the order is mixed, and it changes from visit to visit, so nobody is stuck at the bottom of an alphabet. It stays the same while you are looking, so going back to a list finds it as you left it.

You can also sort a list by Nearest first, measured from your postcode if you have given one, or from the centre of Dronfield.
