The role
A catering assistant post in the kitchen team at Unstone Junior School, run by Derbyshire Catering Service on behalf of Derbyshire County Council. You would support the kitchen supervisor across the whole of the school meals service.
What you'd do
- Help with food preparation and cooking.
- Portion meals and follow allergen rules.
- Serve meals to pupils and others at lunchtime, and set up the dining room for service.
- Follow food hygiene and health and safety rules while serving.
- Depending on the day, you may work at a production unit or a servery unit.

- You will need to complete an NVQ food hygiene certificate once appointed.
